O. Children (previously O Children) is a Post-Punk/Coldwave group from London. Its main influences are coming from the 80’s. It is composed of four members including the charismatic leader Tobias O’Kandi (vocals), Harry James (bass), Gauthier Ajarrista (guitar) and Andrew Sleath (drums).
From the first listening just one question remains: where does this voice come from? Tobias O’Kandi’s deep voice comes out of nowhere. It grabs you and casts into your ears low-key shades.
The sound of O. Children could seem familiar and will remind you of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Joy Division, Fieldsof the Nephilim or Editors.
Their first album called O. Children was released in 2010. We can already feel the particular style of the group. Two years later, in 2012 they released Apnea. Right from the beginning we can feel that something has changed. Their sound and musical identity seem more assured. The guideline has been found and we can only enjoy the eleven tracks of this second opus.
O. Children is a very pleasant discovering and a group with a huge potential which is just waiting to be exploited.
