Goth in Montreal: Bars and Restaurants

In Montreal there are only few underground bars and restaurants. However the ones that exist are very dynamic and offered concerts and events on a regular basis.

The Foufounes Electriques

Foufounes_electriques_01The Foufounes Electriques can be translated as the electrical buttocks. It is a bar, a club and a concert hall which has been founded in 1983. It is one of the places of reference for the underground scene of Montreal because of its longevity but also because of its dynamism.

The Foufounes Electriques is a pleasant place where you can simply enjoy a beer while listening to some good music. You can also listen to a metal concert in the other room upstairs.

Café Chaos

Café_Chaos01The Cafe Chaos is a work cooperative which is located in the hearth of the Latin quarter of Montreal. It is a great way to meet the members of the underground community of Montreal. It is situated just above the Bar Passeport where you can enjoy Gothic parties twice a week.

L’Auberge du Dragon Rouge

Auberge_du_Dragon_Rouge01For more than 20 years, L’Auberge du Dragon Rouge revived the medieval mind in Montreal. Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of a medieval tavern. In a friendly and festive atmosphere you will be able to drink beer in a cauldron, while eating some dishes inspired from Middle-Ages such as boar shank confit, or maybe you will let yourself be seduced by the Gargantua dishful. At the end of your meal try the Dragon Blood; an unforgettable flavor shooter. Waiters will be at your service to give you advice and to host the night both with minstrels.
